Our tharavadu
Immediately after the formation/registration of our Society, we acquired a plot with a ground floor building premises for our occupation. Located at 162/205 Lake Gardens, Kolkata 700 045, this is now our registered office. Ever since then it has become the cynosure of our activities. We fondly call our office premises as “Tharavadu”, a Malayalam word reminiscent of a large matrilineal joint family in Nair families of the yore. For all of us it is a ‘home’ away from individual homes, a symbol of unity of minds and action! It denotes unity of purpose and goal.
At Tharavadu our members and their family meet every evening. We use the place to meet on a regular basis, making it an occasion to discuss matters related to the socio-cultural and welfare activities of CNSS. Its small library and a reading room is also open on every day for use of members. The ideas that are moulded through such interactions are put up for the consideration of the Governing Body for appropriate action and implementation.
